Bold, Dogged, Deterministic
Fully integrated show control software and services for immersive events. From hardware R&D and software development to installation and commissioning, Deterministic weave magic into every pixel and prop with precision and innovation. Just as the name suggests, Deterministic’s founder Theo Holloway is nothing but dogged in his quest for perfection, it is after all how Wintermute was born.

Theo Holloway
Theo spent a big chunk of childhood making weird noises with tracker software and making cheesy platform games in AMOS – plus ça change, innit?
Theo reluctantly read physics at university, though ended up spending most of his time doing sound and music for shows, including one that opened right in the middle of finals. Post Uni, he went on to drama school to try his hand at being a sound designer.
He worked in venues, then toured for a while and flirted with employment before going freelance in 2010.
Immersive theatre wasn’t initially on Theo’s radar, but all that changed during the first preview of his debut immersive show, in his own words “The audience turned up, in costume, in droves, and up for it, and I thought that this was probably a thing I wanted to do. And as it’s a new area, there are mercifully few stick-in-the-muds telling you how it should be done.”
These days, Theo lives in North East Hampshire with his family. He enjoys long walks with his wife, being a source of amusement to his daughter and cats, and going to the gym, where he can listen to antisocial music and have a think.
